That being said, overall I have enjoyed how this show was far beyond it's time typically with it's portrayal of different races and sexes holding all levels of positions and importance. It's one of the main things I do like about this show, and encouraged me to continue to watch and give it a chance.
I was also severely disappointed in the death toll for this episode. Not a single death...
Capt. Pike is held prisoner and tested by aliens who have the power to project incredibly lifelike illusions.I didn't enjoy this episode at all. I understand it was only the pilot, but it was cheesier than even I expected. I also wasn't very fond of the way the women were portrayed as options for the captain to choose, with no say for themselves. And who the heck is Captain Pike???
